This morning before school, Savannah was up in her room for a long time. Next thing I know, she comes downstairs wearing this:
Granted, it’s not horrible. In the picture it almost looks as if it matches. But my first thought was, “I can’t wait until she’s in a school that requires her to wear a uniform.” It’s just not anything that I would have picked out for her to wear. The light blue shirt says “snow princess” on the front and the spring floral skirt has dark pink and green flowers on it. At least that matches the flowers on the boots she choose! :)
And really, you should have seen the look on her face as she gracefully decended the stairs from her bedroom to the living room. She got to the bottom and with a breathless sigh said, “Mommy, look at me. I’m a princess.” I just really didn’t have the heart to tell her the tops and bottoms didn’t go together. I simply said, “Yes you are. And you look wonderful today!”
In her defense though, she has come along was since October of last year when she announced she was ready to go meet Nanny and Grampa for dinner and she was dressed like this:
Hmmmm… graphic t-shirt with floral print skirt, purple knee socks, brown sandals, and 4-5 mulitcolored hairbands on each wrist worn as bracelets. To Walmart…okay. But Cracker Barrel? No Way!!! :)

some times you just have to let them get on with it – it’s a milestone actually, wanting to choose their own clothes. trust me, i know – i’ve
looked it up plenty of times when Mary Catherine’s insisted on wearing something that I’m not quite keen on!
I must admit I’m guilty of going through her drawers and hiding things I don’t like to lessen the damage!!
:)
hey….i live in conyers and shop at walmart and i dress like that too on saturdays! nothing like going out in public and feeling comfortable and not careing who sees you!
