Last night around 5:30 Jeremy asks if there are any good family movies playing. I am thinking in my head “Probably not”, but out loud I say, “Ummm, I dunno, let me check”. So I get online and can’t find anything family worthy except for Ratatouille, and we saw that last weekend. So I dig a little deeper by searching the ticketmaster website.
Lo and behold Ringling Bros is holding a circus event about 15 miles from our house. I’m like, “Hey, wanna go to the circus?”
“When?”
“Ummmm, right now????”
Yep, it started in an hour and we were all lounging around in our Sunday grubbies. Oh well, even if we had planned to go and had advance tickets it would not be like us to get there on time. And even though we had to dress everyone and pack a diaper bag we only missed the first few minutes.
It was a lot of fun. Emery’s favorite part was the elephant act. He kept asking me to go up there and touch it. Over and over and over. OMG…No you can’t go touch it!!! Be quiet already. Today I was talking to him about the circus to see what he remembered and he says, “Elephant Mommy. Can’t touch it. Not ours.”
Well, at least something is sinking in these days!
Savannah talked a lot about the elephants last night too, but in today’s conversation she highlighted the clowns. She laughed like crazy as she retold how the clown was holding a baby that would burp really loud and then “peed” on the audience. Quality entertainment, y’all!
I’m not sure about Jeremy’s favorite part of the circus, but I am fairly certain that it was NOT during intermission when he spotted the one and only cotton candy seller on the other side of the arena and he began his venture of making his way over there, only to have the seller keep getting one step ahead of him. On and on they went. Then he finally gets to the guy and the cotton candy is $10.00. YES!!! TEN DOLLARS!!! But it came with this “free” hat.
I particulary liked the fact that Jeremy has showed increased interest in taking us out on the weekends. I know he’s been crazy busy lately. Working 6 days a week, 10 or 12 hours a day. It’s a lot and I try to be understanding about the fact that he just wants to chill at home on Sundays. I, on the other hand, have spent all week at home and I’m usually looking for somethig to do outside the house. Marriage, family, work…what a delicate balance it is!
