I was tagged by Elizabeth to answer these 14 questions:
1. Coolest birthday you remember: Well, I’ve never had any big birthday bashes. With my birthday being on Christmas Eve, friends are usually either out of town, or broke. Or both! But this past birthday a friend of mine got a few of our close friends together and surprised me with a dinner party. It was small and quiet and personal. It was very nice! (Thank you Amy!)
2. Do you prefer hosting parties or attending as a guest? I prefer to host. I am not good at making small talk, so I’m most comfortable keeping myself busy in the kitchen or getting people something to drink.
3. What color is your bedroom? It has khaki walls with off-white trim. We have a dark red and gold comforter, and 2 beige, suede oversized chairs with olive colored pillows. The plan was to tie all the colors together with the curtains and accessories, but 2 years later…I still haven’t done it.
4. Do you and your man have a song? What tune makes you swoon? I don’t know if Jeremy remembers this or not, but it’s “Keeper of the Stars†by Tracy Byrd. It was always a favorite of mine and I remember when I got into his pickup truck on our first non-date (long story), it was playing on the radio. I took it as a sign!
Here’s a side note: Jeremy just walked in and so I asked him the same question. He said it’s “I Feel Like Making Love†by Bad Company. (Get your head outa the gutter, Man!)
5. What were/will be your wedding colors? Would you change them? We had a small outdoor wedding and I don’t remember there being any particular color scheme. The only thing I really, really wanted on that day was to carry lavender roses. I love them…they are so beautiful.
6. Ever sneak out of the house or host a wild bash while the ‘rents were away? What’s your wild child tale? Oh Heaven’s No! I was always too afraid to get caught. The worst thing I ever did was let my boyfriend sneak in the house at night during the summer. My sister knew, but my parents never did.
7. You just won the lottery! Do you stash your cash or pass the bucks? What are the first 3 things you’d do? First I’d pay off debt. Second I’d retire, open a money market account and live off the interest. Third I’d help others.
8. You oughta’ be in pictures…which actress stars as you in a movie of your life’s story? Okay, I might be stretching it here but how about Kate Hudson? C’mon…I know she’s way cuter than me, but still.
9. What’s your go-to meal for quick comfort? Taco Bell for sure. Can you believe I can put away a Nacho Bell Grande, 2 Taco Supremes, and a Burrito Supreme with a large Dr Pepper? What a PIG!
10. Everyone has ups and downs. What’s your hardest learned lesson? That I’m not responsible for other people’s choices and I don’t have to fix others’ problems in order for them to like me. It’s alright to say no.
11. What advice would you give to 18 year-old you? I wouldn’t waste my breath. Eighteen year old me didn’t listen to a darn thing anybody tried to tell her!
12. Favorite board game: Scrabble.
13. Dish it! What’s your “me time” guilty pleasure? Starbucks and a Pedicure.
14. What’s one thing you’d like to learn to do in 2008? Digital Scrapbooking. Can anyone point me in the right direction???
