About 4:30 this afternoon I was putting the final touches on dinner. Basically I was about to make the dumplings for the chicken and dumplings. At that point all I had was a pot of boiling chicken broth.
Then my phone rang. My how things can change!
A friend of ours was calling to see if we had plans for the night, and in less than 5 minutes I had found a babysitter (I have the best sister in the WORLD Y’all) and was hopping in the shower. Turns out that our friends know a very popular jazz artist who was playing tonight in Buckhead and they were headed into Atlanta to listen to him play.
I knew that Jeremy would want to go for sure. He was totally into jazz music when we met and he took me out to hear some of his favorites while we were dating. I’m not sure why we quit going. It was always a fun time.
Tonight was fun as well. We sat down at a restaurant called Sambuca and I ate $17 lasagna. Gotta love Buckhead! But once saxophonist Eric Darius came on the scene, it was all good. He was terrific!!! Awesome musician and very entertaining. And I even got a signed CD! Whoo-Hoo!
Thanks Todd and Joanna for thinking of us tonight! We had a great time with you guys and enjoyed our last minute date night…even if we were your “last resort”. Hee Hee!!! :)
