I’ve been busy again. Some of it stems from being on the road a little more than usual. And some of it is not so much physical busyness, as mental busyness. My mind has been preoccupied with a challenge that’s been set before us in our Sunday School class. (NOT the Sex Challenge, btw, although that would probably lead to more of the “physical busy-ness”! HA!)
Our teacher has challenged us with finding out where we belong within the life of our church. This is something our Pastor asks us all the time too. But now, after a series of sermons on besetting sins, and concluding that mine is FEAR, I wonder how many opportunities I’ve missed out on and how many more excuses I’m going to make before getting involved. I’m thinking and praying about it a lot. It leaves no room for good story telling posts to come together in my head.
So in lieu of a good story, here’s what’s happening in bullet point format:
1. Potty Training. The boy and the dog. Stafford is almost completely trained. Emery, not so much. But I wonder if I just let him pee outside if that would speed things up a bit. I’m not sure I can go on much longer saying these things ALL day, EVERY day…”Do you need to go potty?…How about you, do YOU need to go potty too?…Do you need to go outside?…Hey, which one of you peed on the floor right here???”
2. I am in mouring over my camera. My coolest, so fantabulous, most awesomest camera EVER has something wrong with it. Actually, something funky started happening 3 weeks ago and I just couldn’t part with it. I thought I could live with the funkiness. But it got worse and worse and finally DIED!!! Taking it to the UPS store on Monday was the longest drive of my life. I held it in my lap the whole way, stroking it gently. “You’ll be fine,” I whispered. “I’m sure it’s nothing.”
I paid the clerk and he assured me it would be bubble wrapped securely. They would take special care of my precious camera. I have been so lost without it! I even tried some new recipes recently and couldn’t take pictures for my Cooking Blog. (I did post the recipes however, so check ’em out. The Chicken Fajita Tortilla Soup is great!!!)
3. Crazy weather. What is the deal? Beautiful and sunny and 60 one day. Two days later I’m walking the dog in snow flurries!
4. American Idol. Lovin’ it again this year! Tonight 4 more go home, leaving only 16. I can’t wait until 9 pm!!! My top 3 guys are: Michael J, Jason C, and David H. My top 3 girls are: Kristy Lee C, Brooke W, and Alexandrea L. Is it wierd that I watch this show religiously but never vote?
5. House Cleaning. How is it possible to always be behind? Even though when I was sick 2 weeks ago Jeremy had our office cleaning crew come in and give the house a good scrubbin’. The following Monday I was like, “Well, it’s still clean. Don’t need to do anything today.” That went on for several days, and now, here I am wondering how I will ever get this place spic and span for a baby shower we are hosting on Sunday.
Well, Jodi, maybe if you got off this computer for once in your life…blah, blah, blah. Bite me! I know you were thinking it! :)

Oh – we watch American Idol all the time, too….but never once voted! There are probably more of us out there than we realize!
I’m living my American Idol viewing dreams thru you – so keep on watching:)
Potty Training and American Idol! I’m right there with you on both except my daughter and I vote every time! We are real A.I. junkies! We are in pull-ups now, but here lately it’s not going so well. He comes and tells me “Mommy, I pee-pee in pull-up.” I ask, “Bentley, where does pee-pee supposed to go?” He replies, “Pee-Pee, Poo-Poo, Potty!.” When I ask why he doesn’t put it there he just shrugs his shoulders and says, “Don’t know”. So I am a little frustrated with it. Any advice?
Potty Training. Those were two words that I thought were going to send me over the edge. I think you read my post, but Garrett just got it a little over a month ago.
He’s 3 1/2. I thought I was going to lose it. However, on this side of things, there are some really good things about him being so old.
He’s very self-sufficient. I don’t help him at all (except to wipe #2). If he’d learned younger, I would have had to help him and then get him in the habit of going on his own.
I do hope it happens for you soon!
Jodi,
thanks for your sweet comments. Sorry about your camera. That stinks. What camera did you have. I know a lot of different digital SLR have had design problems that they will fix at no cost. It has happened with several of the major brand ones. Hope that it gets back soon. I understand your pain. I have been without mine several times for fixing and cleaning.
PS the canon elph one is a nice diaper bag camera. I love it. so small and pretty quick and nice for a little point and shoot.
Thanks for your sweet comments about my kiddos.
Hugs
