I need help! And I’m not talking about these naked windows. They need help too, but I don’t have the moola to help them right now.
I’m talking about right here:
I want to sit right here. Every morning. Sit in the big comfy chair, with enough room for Stafford to crowd my space, and look out onto the beautiful lake while having my quiet time.
AND I want to have my coffee. Is that too much to ask? Because really, I’ve been trying to figure out a way and I can’t think outside the box or something because I can’t come up with anything.
Right now, if I want to enjoy coffee AND a bible study I sit on the hard ole chairs around my kitchen table. It seems cold and impersonal, especially with the winter we’ve been having. Somehow I lack end tables in this house. After almost 5 years here, I still don’t know how to decorate with them unless they are placed in the corner of an “L” shaped couch.
But what else could I use to put my drink on that sits next to the chair? Is there a piece of furniture I’m not aware of? And where do I put it? Do I just buy 1 even though I have 2 chairs that sit symetrically in the bay area? Maybe I should rearrange the furniture completely.
I’ve spent way too much time thinking about this, so I’m asking for your help. Anybody got any ideas or seen anything in a magazine lately that might be of use and won’t look completely out of place?

I think that a larger table btwn the 2 chairs may be too bulky looking for the room. You might just go with a tall (but small surface space) for one (or both) of the chairs btwn the chair and the wall.
I think I’ve seen something like a workstation ‘tray’ on a stand with wheels if you want o cozy back and pull your coffee AND Bible close to you. Might have to look for that online…
You will post an after photo after yhou decide, right? :-)
You could put a wooden tray on the ottoman to make it usable as a table, although it wouldn’t really be convenient for coffee unless you pulled it closer to the chairs.
What about a stack of old/antique suitcases in graduated sizes stacked between the chairs for a table. Depending on the size, you’d only need 2 or 3. And if you weren’t comfortable sitting things directly on the suitcase surface, top them with a wooden tray to contain things.
Hope these ideas at least jump start your thought process…
Oooo, Melisa beat me to it!
I vote for a nice wooden tray on your ottoman.
I have a real pretty plant stand that Cher gave me awhile back next my big chair. Will send you a pic.
