Here’s a clue. It ain’t the Easter bunny!
Emery joined the baseball team again this year. He was fortunate enough to get the same coach that he had in the fall. We LOVE coach David, but the guy is a baseball nut-case!!! His house is right across the street from the ball field and if he could, he’d have these boys out there every day practicing.
Emery would be up for it, but this tired old Mama is not. We signed him up before we knew we were moving 40 minutes away and making it to all the games and practices in the midst of moving was just not something I was capable to handle. So we’ve done our best this year to play ball and have a great time.
Now we have a second athlete in the family. I signed both kids up for swimming lessons several months ago. I thought it would be a good way to stay active during this especially cold winter we were having. Savannah’s instructor has been very pleased with her progress and she invited her to join the spring swim team.
Savannah decided to try it and she had her first swim meet on Friday night. It was fun to watch her having a good time and cheering her teammates on. When it was over, all the kids got a snack and Savannah thought that meant her team won. Any time I’ve tried to explain to her that the opposing team won because they had the most points, she corrects me. “No. I don’t think so. Our team got fruit punch in those cute little barrels.”
