I started blogging in April of 2006. I thought it would be a great way to journal about the things in my life and share pictures of the kids with far away relatives and friends. The only thing I wondered about was how my grandkids would get their hands on it. You know, if I was writing in a paper journal, I’m sure somebody would come across it someday in a dusty box in the attic…”Hey, it’s Grammy’s journal!”, they’d shout. Then spend the rest of the afternoon trying to decipher my handwriting.
So I bought a pretty 3-ring binder and at the end of each month I have been printing my posts and sticking them in there. It seemed to be working, but was a little time consuming and taking up more space than I thought. Then I read about Blurb.
It is so cool, you just have to check it out! I made my first book in about 3 hours. It begins with my first post last April and ends in November of ’06 when I left blogger and began using my own domain.
When the UPS guy dropped the box off on Thursday I felt like a kid a Christmas time. I ran out the door, grabbed it, and flew back into the house trying to peel back the heavy packing tape. Finally I got it open and lovingly held it to my chest! My new baby. My first book! Awwww…
Yeah, it sounds corny, but it’s a proud moment seeing your own personal handiwork as a professional hardcover published book. It was tons of fun to work on and I thought the price was very reasonable. Go on…check ’em out!!!

I have been planning to publish my blog once a year. I am looking forward to getting mine. Thanks for the info.
I heard about Blurb on a different blog – isn’t it just the neatest thing? Thanks for the reminder!
Sounds very neat! Just like you to plan ahead!
Wow! I’ve never heard of this. I’ve wondered about printing out my blog from time-to-time…thinking of it as an electronic scrapbook…but this looks GREAT! Thanks for the tip.
Do you print ALL posts? Comments?
Love it – thanks for letting me know about it. I have been wondering how I would get my blog writings into print.
I.Love.it. I was just telling Ricky a month ago someone needed to start a company doing that. I guess I’m a little behind! Thanks for the info!
