It seems like we’ve been celebrating Jeremy’s birthday all week! His actual birth DAY is not until tomorrow, but on Tuesday his dad threw him a little family party. On Wednesday, we planned an overnight get-away for just the 2 of us at a cozy hunting lodge about 45 minutes from home. With the fire cracklin’ and the rocking chairs rockin’, it was a nice treat for mid-week.
Then last night our office went out to eat after work and boy, did they have a surprise for him! After dinner when we were all sitting around talking, in walked in a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. And not only did she sing her signature “Happy Birthday Mister President”, but she entertained us for about 45 mintues. The look on Jeremy’s face was priceless and we were all laughing so hard our faces were sore!!!
As for me, the project I’ve been working on for him was a renovation of sorts for one of his favorite rooms in our house. He built a theatre in our basement over a year ago and I had no idea what to do with it other than put chairs in there. So Jessica and I brainstormed one day and came up with a sports-theme type room, which makes perfect sense for us since we love to have people over to watch football games on the big screen.
Plus it was a chance for me to pull out all his old high school trophies, dust them off and display them somewhere other than our bedroom (can you believe he thought they should go in there?). Once the room was finished, I couldn’t wait until Saturday to show it to him, so I took him downstairs on Tuesday after we got home from his Dad’s house.
This is what the room looked like the last time he saw it:
And this is his birthday present from me:
Yeah, I know…don’t you wish you were married to me? :)
