Weekly Memory Verse: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well.”
I have a friend that is having a baby soon. Last week I made her this baby quilt:
It is called a “Shaggy Raggy” quilt. It goes together pretty quick, made with 12 inch blocks of flannel sewn back to back. Then each block is stiched together leaving the ends exposed. Before it’s complete, I clipped the ends and then threw it in the washer and dryer to give it this look:
Can you see how it looks frayed around each block? It’s really unique and so very, very soft. Perfect for bundling new babies! :)

You already know I think it’s beautiful…and I hope she will, too. I love seeing you working in my sewing room! :)
You are so talented and I am so jealous. B’s aunt makes those–they are my favorite kind of quilts! I know your friend will be so happy to get this!
What a treasure! She will *love* that and I can’t believe you made it! Wow!
I love that! What a sweet gift. If I have another baby, will you make me one? Don’t worry – you’re off the hook there! As nice as I think the quilt is, I’ll stick with the 3 I have! Seriously though, I think you and Nanny should teach a quilting class. I mean, not in the place of your monthly crop, but a different Friday. I could deal with getting away 2 Fridays a month!
