Earlier this week we played a lot outside. One day, the kids were playing nicely in the water sprinkler and all of a sudden, Emery started crying like he had gotten hurt. I peeked over the top of my sunglasses a saw him sitting in a puddle and Savannah with her hands on her hips.
Then I asked the inevitable: “What happened?”
And here is what she said: “Well Mommy, I was sitting here but wanted to be in the chair and Emery was too close to me and I didn’t want to assidentally knock over him so I pushed him down instead. Is that okay?”

After one long morning in the sun, complete with sunscreen, it was time for naps. I leaned down and gave Savannah a kiss and this is the conversation that followed:
She Said: Yuck, Mama, you stink!!!
I Said: I do? What do I smell like?
She Said: Beets.
I Said: Beets??? How do you know about beets?
She Said: What’s a beet?
I Said: Didn’t you just say I smelled like beets?
She Said: (sighing and obviously irritated) I said beach, Mom!
Oh, thank goodness! :)

Who told her that pushing him was better than “assidentally” knocking him over?!?
She cracks me up!!! And you know what they say “it’s easier to ask for forgivness than for permission”…
LOL—so cute!
Sunscreen and water fun? I’m jealous. Do you know the saying, April showers bring May flowers. Well, according to our April rain fall, flowers should be blooming all over the place. Yet I suspect you actually need SUN to have those blooming flowers!
BTW, I love the smell of beach!
Those are adorable stories! I LOVE the things kids say…they are hilarious without even knowing it!
