With back to school season upon me I have already been asked by my kids’ teachers to volunteer at upcoming events and sign up for special snacks. All moms know that Rice Krispie Treats are a simple crowd pleaser, but what about Cocoa Krispies? Can they be used in place of the regular Snap, Crackle, and Pop???
I’m sure they can, but give this recipe a try. It adds a little more yum factor by including peanut butter and extra chocolate chips! And you definitely can’t go wrong with that!!!
INGREDIENTS:
3 tbsp margarine
1 pkg regular marshmallows (or 4 cups miniature marshmallows)
2 tbsp peanut butter
6 cups Cocoa Krispies
1/2 pkg semi sweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS:
1. Melt margarine in saucepan.
2. Stir in marshmallows and peanut butter and melt completely.
3. Remove from heat and add cocoa krispies.
4. Stir until well coated.
5. Fold in chocolate chips.
6. Press evenly into 9×13 dish coated with cooking spray.
Cut into squares and enjoy. And if you are like me, try not to eat the entire pan all by yourself! That’s just rude. :)
