Well, the game last night was a BLAST! We went with our friends Wendi and Lee, and had the best time. First stop? The Varisty, of course! Can you go to a Georgia game and not eat at the Varsity???
Chili cheese dogs, onion rings, and their famous “Frosted Orange” drink. My guts are fussin’ at me today for those choices, but who cares? It was sooooo good. As in, greasy good. Mmmmmm….
Okay, then we were off to the game. We couldn’t find any close parking so we ended up back at the Varisty to park and walked what felt like 2 miles to the stadium. Not that we cared. We had just eaten 1 billion calories. A walk was just what we needed.
And then we found our seats:
See how happy we are!
I am also smiling because I found that cool jersey on a clearance rack just hours before the game. I had no idea who #20 was so I started asking around. I mean, why would they put a players’ jersey on clearance the day the season opened unless he graduated last year or he sucked. I was just curious which it was.
Turns out to be neither. Thomas Brown is a returning junior who just so happened to score the very first touchdown of last nights’ game. Yay-hoo! So I am his newest fan and will proudly wear the #20 for the rest of the season.
To wrap up the rest of the night quickly…the weather was perfect, the plays were exciting, our noses did NOT end up bleeding (hee hee), and the Dawgs won!!!! The only teeny, tiny lowlight were the blisters I got on the bottom of each foot from my flip flops. I didn’t know one could get blisters from flip flops. Especially when one wears nothing but flip flops on a daily basis. But rest assured…it can and will happen if one decides to walk up one hill and down the next for 2 miles in Athens.
But worth it. So worth it.

I’m not making fun — I’m seriously asking: Does blogging really change how you look at each day? I mean if you didn’t have a blog, would you have taken a picture of the Varsity food? :)
I’m glad you guys had such a great time! I miss Athens so much!!
Yes I would still have taken pictures of Varsity food! But not because I blog…but because I scrapbook!!! :)
Great picture of you and Jeremy.
That’s so funny about the jersey. I did the same thing last year, I bought a jersey for Jxn and just as we were sitting down I started to panic about who that jersey represented and thankfully the player scored the first touchdown in the game!
Great pics!
Your guts are kinder to you than mine are to me. I wouldn’t have even made it to the GAME after that grub!!
Glad y’all had a great time. Great pictures.
Wow – walking from the Varsity to the stadium is impressive! Did you walk down Baxter?
:)
Yeah! So glad you got to go. I have never been to a game! Glad you guys had a good time. My boys were
watching the game while we waited to eat dinner with Cinderella on this little TV that was
meant for little ones. You should have seen them fighting over Barney or the Bulldogs! Ha
