Well we managed to survive through 9 weekends of college football games, one of which (last night) nearly gave my husband a heart attack! And we had a great holiday office party here Friday night. Now I am ready to rest up and enjoy the Christmas season!
Today is the first day of Advent and I’ve been looking forward to this day for ummmm, let’s see, 365 days now? Yep, I heard about this tradition last year during Advent and knew it would be something my kids could really get into. Check out my new wreath:
It’s cute, No?
I wrote this post not too long ago with more details about the tradition, so check it out if you are totally in the dark about what I’m talking about. For those of you who do know, my books have been wrapped and ready, sitting on the hearth for about a week. I told Savannah this morning that today was the first day of Advent and she knew exactly what that meant. “We get to open a present?”
That’s right, Baby, we get to open a present. And hopefully this year we will get focused on the most important gift ever given on December 25th, our Lord and Savior. May you all have a blessed Advent, Christmas, and holiday season! Peace!

Love your wreath. How did the first nights’ reading go?
Beautiful wreath! So, what did you read first?
