Today was the big day! Savannah has been eagerly awaiting (and working toward) the day she could get her very own American Girl Doll.
Used as an incentive for reading skills and tied in with her birthday later this month, her Dad and I were pleased to be able to reward her with one of these sweet dolls. From the time she received the latest catalog in the mail she had changed her mind daily on which doll she wanted. Until this morning she told everyone she was getting a “Just Like Me” doll with brown hair and brown eyes (which would look NOTHINHG like her) and naming it Jordan.
When I got up this morning she told me she had changed her mind (again!) and did in fact want one that looked just like her. I expected many more changes as the day went on and couldn’t wait to see what she ended up with.
In the end, her look a-like won out. She even asked me to pierce it’s ears to seal the deal.
She and Felicity have been inseparable ever since I handed over the plastic and the sales woman handed me an empty box.
Since we were also celebrating her birthday, we made reservations at the Bistro and indulged in some dangerously high calorie desserts! Yumm-O!!!
It was so much fun to see the excitement on her face. Before we finished our treats, she leaned over to me and said, “Mom, I knew this was going to been great, but this was more than I thought it would be.”

How sweet and fun is that! I can’t wait to go to the store. We got Brooke the Just Like Me doll too, with the brown hair, brown eyes and pierced ears. Can’t wait until Christmas for her to see. They are such pretty dolls! Glad you all had fun together to celebrate her birthday.
Yay! So much fun! I just love American Girl!! Tell Nanny it is time to put away the quilting for a bit to use the sewing machine to make some cute doll clothes! ;-)
Yeah! Glad you had a great day.
