Our first school project arrived in the mail last month. Live Butterfly Garden sent us 10 caterpillars along with all the food they would need to survive. After only 7 days, all of them had crawled to the top of the cups and made their chrysalis’.
We then attached them to the inside of the mesh habitat and waited patiently for our pretty Painted Ladies to make their appearance. Less than a week later, all had hatched.
We fed them for a few days by dropping sugar water onto flowers we picked from Papa’s yard, and then it was time to let them go. The kit contained a lot of information about butterflies that made it really easy for me to make this into a science lesson. And since it was so interactive, the kids loved it!

Ahhhhh, you’re back!!! So good to read your words here again!
I’m moving right along with Bentley and some school things. The butterfly garden seems really cool. I’ll have to check into that for him!
