Today, our rambunctious little man turns 7. He wanted to go bowling again this year, but asked if he could invite some friends this time. We agreed and so Josh, Xander, Colby, Nicholas and Noah celebrated with him (along with a few of their sister’s, to his chagrin).
Emery was his usual lively self. Giving pointers to his friends who hadn’t had much bowling experience, and “high-five-ing” anytime the pins were knocked down. Boisterous hugging and chest bumps were a dime a dozen, although he’s starting to learn that not all boys are such big fans of physical contact (poor Xander!).
I experimented with building him a Lego cake, which he thought was pretty cool. I think he mainly just liked that there were marshmallows on it (the nubs).
Happy Birthday to my growing boy! You are all energy all the time. You wear this ole’ Mama slap out each and every day. But for as hard as you make me work to keep up with you and discipline you and teach you… you work just as hard to make me laugh and give me a glimpse of all the love that’s still encompassed in that big huge heart of yours. I’m proud of you, Emery. And I love you very, very much!!!
