My parents came in last week after spending a few days with my aunt and uncle on the gulf side. Then, on Saturday, after many, many, TOO MANY hours at the airport, my sister made it to Ft Lauderdale. We did some tourist type things while they were here, but mostly we hung out at home cooking, playing games/Legos, getting Nanny hooked on The Blacklist, and basically enjoying being around one another.
One particular thing I had planned for my sister was to go horse back riding. I know she enjoys that and my kids have always wanted to try it, so when I found a local park had trails, I made us an appointment for Tuesday morning.
It was fun to ride again. The last time I’ve ridden was around 2007, I think. After the trail ride, I thought we’d meet Nanny and Grampa at Butterfly World, but Nanny hurt her neck and wasn’t feeling well. So we headed back to the house where we decided a trip to the beach was in order before Jessica left the next day.
Most times when I’ve been to Deerfield Beach, it’s practically empty. Not so today! The beach was packed! The weather was perfect and the kids were able to get in the water and play, besides making an entire “sand castle town”. I think I could easily get used to living in Florida!
