Jeremy had his annual “guys only” golf trip this weekend. It’s usually an out of state-er, but now, since we are out of state-ers, it was actually IN state for us, so guess who got to tag along for the ride? The kids and I didn’t stay at the golf resort where the guys were, but we were in the same vicinity.
Since we were in Orlando, I checked into tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. But HOLY COW… at an ADDITIONAL $80 PER TICKET, I don’t know, that seems pretty terrifying to me…. we opted to see what our resort had going on.
Turns out, they had some cool stuff happening at the West Village Pool. The kids created stuffed animals (ya know, because they don’t have enough of those!), played games, swam in the pool, dressed up, went for a “candy dig” on the beach, participated in a Halloween parade, and competed for the best overall costume in their age group. After the sun went down, they joined their new friends in the pool, watching “Hotel Transylvania”, while I sat there shivering and drinking coffee with their new friends’ mom!
The view was spectacular, but it was so cold when the sun went down. Why is it kids never seem to recognize the temperature until it’s time to get out? Twenty teeth chattering minutes and one bus ride back to our condo later we were warming up in hot showers, digging into late night pizza and eating too much candy. Ah….a perfect Halloween night.
