Okay, I know I am not the only Mom out there who has had to deal with something like this. I am just hoping beyond hope that there is a Mom who reads my blog that has successfully dealt with this:
This morning, as my children played happily together I allowed them to take their sippy cups to their bedroom full of cherry Kool-Aid. (You know where this is going, right?) A few minutes later I heard Savannah call me saying, “You need to come here right now and see this Mommy!”
Apparently, Emery thought it would be a good idea to fill his mouth full of CHERRY Kool-Aid and then spit it all over the room. Mainly the carpet. From the looks of things, he did it more than once!
I grabbed the OxyClean because I’ve never had a carpet stain that OxyClean could not remove. But then again, I’ve never had a Cherry Kool-Aid stain. It didn’t touch it. Soooooo, anybody out there got any advice aside from buying a large area rug for the middle of his bedroom floor???

I guess I would call in the professionals–quickly! So sorry.
I wonder if the boiling water thing will work if it can’t flow THROUGH something. Might be worth a try. I’m glad my kids weren’t that horrible! :)
wait..don’t pour boiling water on it…that will cook it in! try soda water..the fizz seems to work. i think they now make clear koolaid just for people who like to fill their mouths and see how far they can spit stuff thru the gap in their teeth!!! glad you get oxiclean to work for you and billy mayes…never works for me! think i just heard a great jingle on the telly…call 1-800 steemer……they are my best friends at least once a year!
(Though it probably doesn’t seem like great advice at this point, don’t forget to grab a camera and get a shot of this. My motto when our kids were younger “Don’t get mad. Get the camera.” Before digital ones, so I really had to be prepared for moments like this! [gave me time to think of a plan…] Down the road you’ll laugh. (Not now, don’t want to encourage anything…) And the pictures will be a large part of the laughter!)
I have no clue how to remove the kool-aid. Afraid I’d go for the area rug!
This just happened to me with cherry Pedi-Lite. I tried OxyClean, too. Didn’t do a thing. Club soda (room temp) is the ticket!
I know this isn’t grout, but the only thing that will clean our grout is the Mr. Clean magic eraser. Not sure how well it would work on carpet. The other thing you can try is baby wipes, those get more things out of stuff than you would ever think–kinda worries me that I use them on my kids! And Spot Shot works well too, on random stuff. Or borrow a steam vac from someone…Good luck at any rate!
I’d call a carpet cleaner… make sure to find one that uses kid-friendly cleaning solution, especially since it’s in his room.
I’ve never used it, but I’ve also heard and read that club soda works on LOADS of things….it wouldn’t surprise me if it doesn’t work here too. Be sure to let us know wht you do and how it works!
