I was asked about this recipe last time I listed it on Menu Plan Monday. I haven’t had it in a while, so thought I would not only post how to make it, but also add it to the list of meals we will be eating this week. It’s a lot like tacos and very, very yummy!
Conquistadors
1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 taco seasoning packet
8-10 flour tortillas
Lettuce
Chopped tomatoes
White Sauce (see recipe below)
Shredded cheeses
Green Onions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Prepare taco meat according to package directions. Roll flour tortillas with taco meat, lettuce, and tomato. Place in 9×13 pan. Pour white sauce over all. Cover liberally with shredded cheddar, white american, and/or monterey jack cheeses. Heat in oven until cheese melts. Top with chopped green onion. Enjoy!!!
White Sauce
1 1/2 tbsp margarine
1 1/2 tbsp flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 cup of milk
Melt margarine in small mixing bowl, using the microwave on med-high heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper. Blend in milk slowly. Mircrowave on high, 2-3 minutes, or until sauce thickens, stirring after each minute.
