I didn’t expect it this soon, but with the kids going back to school and being around other kids it was only a matter of time til the sicknesses began. Emery woke up crying screeching around 3 a.m. I went in to check on him and his bed was wet. Diaper leak? No. I assumed at that point it was water from his sippy cup. Took the wet sheets off and tucked him back in. But when I leaned down to snuggle him good night, I smelled something funny. One quick flick of the light in the hallway and I noticed the orangish-pink color. And the chunks. Nice.
Lesson learned: always turn on a light when checking on little ones in the middle of the night. (Can’t believe I don’t know that by now!)
So not knowing if it was going to be a one time thing, I got him cleaned up and back into bed. I stayed with him about 30 minutes, then went back to bed myself. A few minutes later I heard more coughing and crying and ….well, you know the sound that comes next.
I figured I was up for the night. That was 2.5 hours and 3 clean shirts ago. I have watched the end of Dead Poets Society and 2 news programs while holding my poor pukey little boy. He is finally sleeping peacefully on the couch and I was trying to decide if I should go back to bed or blog? I opted for this (obviously) since my daily alarm is about to go off anyways. I’m sure I can survive the day on 4 hours sleep…I am a Mom after all! (yawn!)

Hope Emery is feeling better soon! And I hope you get in a nap today!!!
Goodness! I’m sorry he’s sick – I just hate it when they’re pukey!
Hope he’s better today.
Hope Emery feels better soon…and you get some rest. Isaiah has already had his share of sickness from school too! I guess it will make them stronger in the end! And yes, you can function on 4 hours of sleep…well at least for a day anyway.
Oh no that is too bad. I am so sorry for both of you. It is even harder to have a sick one when you are that tired. It is inevitable with back to school. I pray that he gets better and you get some rest.
Oh, that stinks (literally)! Poor little guy. I hope he feels better soon and that the rest of you don’t get what he has! On the bright side, you can get in lots of good loving when they don’t feel good:)
I love your line-Of course I can I am a mom! That cracks me up! Lifting a prayer for your little one! Mine had a fever this am too! Wondering why or what may be coming-watching for now but any mom can relate to what you are going through now! Not fun. Just praying too that God gives you supernatural strength today to make it through with an extra measure of His Spirit.
I left that verse you asked about on my comments section on my blog.
IN HIS love,
Angela :)
Hang in there.
I’m so sorry Emery is sick. I hope no one else gets it and that you are able to get some much needed rest.
I’m sorry! It seems like several families around Dacula have that stomach bug too!
Praying that your entire house will sleep well tonight!
Blessings,
stephanie
