I know I’m not the only one who finds things in the dryer other than clothes. I keep a small plastic bowl in the laundry room at all times so I can throw all the extra change in there that comes out of Jeremy’s pockets. But yesterday…I drew the line!
First I found this:
Cash. Not unusual and it went in my pocket. No harm done. Yet…
Then this:
I am finding out that boys will be boys and rocks are sure to be as common as quarters.
But then, y’all, I screamed and ran when I opened the dryer door and saw THIS:
OMG…it’s a lizard! A LIZARD!!! I shut the door on that one and when Jeremy got home from work I informed him that I was indeed on strike from the laundry room until he got that nasty carcass out of there!
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve found in your dryer???

The thing that keeps appearing in my dryer is David’s knife that he takes to the
fire station. Right now, I am so tired of air soft gun bee bee’s! They are in my dryer,
on the floor, in the corners, in my washer, under the beds, everywhere! Oh well,
I’ sure one day I will miss going around the house saying: “Ouch… Ouch…” from
stepping on those little buggers!
We don’t have a dryer!
:)
I laughed when I saw those pictures! While I have not had a lizard in the dryer, I have pulled out many different things from the boy’s pockets. Rocks, mulch, game pieces, candy wrappers (because they were trying to hide the candy they snuck), chewed up gum (because they didn’t want to throw it away while they were eating) and just about every toy small enought to fit in the pocket!
I have to say gum is my biggest enemy. Usually you find the silver wrapper first. Then, somewhere on your clothes, you find gum when under extreme heat gets sticky just as if it had been chewed! I have found rocks before too! Welcome again to the world of boys!!!
Wow-you are BRAVE! I think the weirdest thing I find are toys or crayons (which are awful) or gum. Nothing like that but we are in girl world.
Blessing to you my friend! That deserves an award or something!
Much love,
Angela
a broken black bic stick pen…..and there was ink all over the dryer drum and the clothes inside the dryer. they were all ruined. it came from the pocket of a young lady staying with us for a while until her parents relocated back to atlanta. this was after she became anorexic and neurotic. she was asked to move on shortly thereafter!
After your dad’s SECOND pocket watch went through the washer and dryer I said, “No more pocket watches!…look at a clock!”
Hi Jodi. I have visited lately and have not left a comment. I enjoy your blog. A lizard in the dryer! Yuck! I once had a
snake in the laundry room, but never anything that was preivously alive in the dryer! I would go on strike too!
A friend of mine from kindergarten grew up on a farm. She and her brothers used to put worms in their pockets and forget about them… Her mom was always finding fried worms in the laundry.
